Savannah
Music Group, Inc. is a
grass roots music publishing company and
independent record label located in the heart of Nashville’s
Music Row. Blending great down-home
music with the most cutting-edge technology
available to embrace the music industry’s digital
evolution, Savannah Music
Group strives to keep the
music real, interactive and enjoyable for fans around the world.
Savannah
Music Group was
started by songwriting veteran Dave Gibson (who has penned five number one
hits and is the former front man of the 1994 ACM Award-winning Gibson/Miller
Band) and his wife, former Mercury recording artist and songwriter, Daisy
Dern, who named the company after their daughter,
Savannah. When Dave and Daisy met Silicon Valley entrepreneur, Jeff Cohen
in April of 2008, the three had an instant bond and became partners in
Savannah Music
Group, Inc. Cohen, who is also the co-founder of
the new Voyage-air Guitar (the guitar that folds in half and fits in a
backpack and unfolds in tune), saw the opportunity for many synergies between
Savannah Music
Group and Voyage-air Guitar, and was eager to lend
his prolific background of entrepreneurial experience to launching both
companies. Berklee College of Music Alumni and
singer/songwriter and world-class musician, Mark Dreyer, brings an abundance
of expertise to the company, ranging from audio/video and web production,
songwriting and musicianship to meeting the everyday demands of the
music business.
Savannah Music
Group opened its doors in October, 2008. The
roster now includes Bass player/producer and songwriter,
Kevin “Swine" Grantt, who’s songwriting credits include two Brad Paisley cuts
(Spaghetti Western Swing and Cluster Pluck), a Darryl Worley cut (Don’t Show
Up If You Can’t Get Down), and a Rhonda Vincent cut (Jesus Built A Bridge To
Heaven). Savannah Music Group's most recent addition Nolan Neal, an
alternative singer, songwriter, artist formerly with Hollywood Records and
Virgin Records, also a past publishing deal with EMI New York.
