Savannah Music Group is a grass roots
music publishing company located in the heart of Nashville’s Music Row.
The company was founded in 2008 by songwriter Dave Gibson (who has penned
five number one hits and is the former front man of the 1994 ACM
Award-winning Gibson/Miller Band) and former Mercury recording artist and
songwriter, Daisy Dern. Silicon Valley
businessman, Jeff Cohen, saw the
opportunity for many synergies between Savannah Music Group and one of his
companies,
Voyage-air Guitar, and was eager to lend his prolific background of
entrepreneurial experience to launching both companies. Savannah Music
Group expanded in December of 2010 with the addition of former General
Manager of Warner Bros., Bob
Saporiti, who became Savannah Music Group’s General Manager. He brings
with him over 30 years of experience in all facets of the music industry.
The current songwriting roster includes Kevin
“Swine" Grantt, Nolan Neal,
Jack Williams, and Dave
Gibson. The company has had releases by Montgomery Gentry, The Blind
Boys of Alabama, Brad Paisley, The Randy Rogers Band, Tommy Steele, The
Mulch Brothers, Kristina Cornell, and The Dirt Drifters, and has songs in
the motion picture releases “Country Strong,” “Sucker,” and the upcoming
TV series “Good Christian Belles.” Savannah Music Group is positioned to
be competitive at the highest level in the publishing community with its
current roster of writers and executive team.
